When Did the Upgrade Launch?
The rollout officially began on 15 September 2025, with early access available through selected Retail Service Providers, including FibreMax.

Who Is Eligible?
Your eligibility depends on the NBN technology available at your address.
- FTTP: Eligible customers can access the higher-speed tiers available for their address.
- HFC: Eligible customers can also access selected higher-speed services.
- FTTN/FTTC: You may need an infrastructure upgrade before accessing certain faster plans.

Do You Need New Hardware?
Not necessarily. In many cases, existing equipment may be suitable for your upgraded service. However, NBN Co is also rolling out new FTTP equipment designed to support the higher speeds available through upgraded services.
The newer hardware is:

- More energy efficient, using up to 40% less power
- Capable of supporting speeds of up to 8 Gbps
