Is my Sassafras home definitely eligible?

Yes. Most addresses in Sassafras VIC 3787 are now eligible for a Fibre upgrade, subject to standard service checks and installation conditions.

Will there be any extra installation costs?

For eligible addresses in Sassafras taking up our Home Fast 500 plan, FibreMax covers the standard Fibre upgrade installation. If anything unusual comes up during the site assessment, we’ll discuss options with you before any work happens.

Can I keep my existing home phone number?

In most cases, yes. Tell us who your current provider is and whether you want to keep your number – we’ll let you know what’s possible and help manage the changeover.

Do I have to use the supplied router?

We highly recommend using the GWN7052 Wi-Fi 5 router we supply, because it’s tested to work well with our service. If you prefer to use your own compatible router, our team can guide you through the basics.

What happens after the first 6 months?

After your first 6 months at $85.95/mth, your Home Fast 500 plan simply continues at $95.95/mth. There are no surprise “mandatory” extras added later.

Can I change to a lower speed plan later?

Because this is a Fibre upgrade, NBN rules require eligible homes to stay on a fast plan for a period of 12 months after upgrade. After that period, options to move to a lower speed may be available – talk to us if you have questions and we’ll explain what’s possible for your address.

Will I get a free router?

We have 50 Grandstream GWN7052 routers set aside for Sassafras Fibre upgrades. When you sign up, we’ll ask about your current modem/router.

  • If your existing router is compatible and capable of handling your new Fibre speeds, we’ll continue using it.
  • If it’s not compatible or likely to slow you down, we’ll provide a Grandstream GWN7052 at no additional cost, while stocks last.
  • We do this because we’re environmentally conscious and don’t want to ship new routers that won’t really be used.
Will my internet go down during the Fibre upgrade?

No. Your current NBN connection will stay active while we install and activate your new Fibre service. Once your new Fibre line is live and tested, we’ll let you know it’s safe to cancel your old service. That way, you stay connected the whole time with no downtime.
